Nutrition Assistant - Per DiemPositions available at the following residential locations: Pasadena and ArcadiaReasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking nutrition students, dietetics technicians, or equivalent certification interested in working closely with a Registered Dietitian and gaining first-hand experience working with patients recovering from eating disorders. Candidates with previous experience working with eating disorders, trauma, substance use and LGBTQIA+ communities are preferred, but not required, to join our team providing compassionate care at our tranquil residential treatment facilities located in the Pasadena and Arcadia neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area.Job Description: The Nutrition Assistant works closely with the Registered Dietitian in monitoring and maintaining the dietary program. The Nutrition Assistant performs essential duties associated with meal plans, resident information related to meal patterns, and safety pertaining to the nutritional care and food service of all residents. Additional duties include grocery shopping, cooking meals, eating at restaurants with patients, and cleaning duties to ensure proper sanitation practices.Key Responsibilities include:Work with Registered Dietitian in ensuring resident nutritional needsPlan and prepare resident mealsProvide baking, cooking and nutrition-related groupsPlan and participate in restaurant outings and delivery for some mealsMonitor and order food and suppliesCheck food logs/diaries daily to ensure patients are following meal plans provided by Registered DietitianImplement and monitor sanitation and kitchen safety protocolsMaintain and monitor emergency food supply; ensure protocols are followedWork with a multidisciplinary team to have an impact on people's eating disorder recoveryAbout Universal Health ServicesHeadquartered in King of Prussia, PA, Universal Health Services, Inc. is one of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services.Qualifications Requirements:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or currently enrolled in an accredited Dietetics, a Dietetic Technician program, or equivalent certification.Experience: Knowledge and experience in the field of eating disorders treatment preferred. Food service or related experience preferred.May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
